This course is aimed at key school personnel seeking an update on the revisions and updates to the statutory guidance governing recruitment to the children’s workforce.

This participative session provides an overview of 'KCSiE Part 3: Safer Recruitment' and is aimed at experienced recruiters.

NB. This is not a child protection course nor an in-depth course on

the end-to-end safer recruitment process.

Safer Recruitment: Safer Recruitment Practice | KCSiE Part 3

This 2-hour, online event focuses on the detail of ‘KCSiE 2022 Part 3: Safer Recruitment’ and provides in-depth training on methods and mechanisms to deterreject and identify unsuitable applicants from working in our schools and colleges.

Delivered by an experienced recruiter and HR practitioner with QTS status, these are small group sessions enabling delegates to share best practice in the recruitment of paid staff and volunteers from advertising the vacancy, through to appointment and induction.

Participants are provided with a Toolkit to support and inform an audit of current recruitment practice, in line with KCSiE 2022 statutory guidance.

Safer Recruitment: Safeguarding Information for all staff | KCSiE Part 1

Governing bodiesproprietors and management committees... should ensure that all staff in their school or college read at least Part one of this guidance [and] ensure that mechanisms are in place to assist staff to understand and discharge their role and responsibilities as set out in Part one of this guidance. (KCSiE 2022 p4)

Aimed at whole school staff and volunteers, this live event has been created to provide a ‘mechanism’ by which delegates can check and evaluate* their understanding of individual and collective responsibility to safeguard children and support an ongoing culture of vigilance within their setting.

Designed to be accessed as part of an Inset/Teacher training day, these 55-minute sessions are also suitable to be delivered as staff training, throughout the term.

*an optional, online evaluation created for individuals to access and complete ‘post course’,

leads to a dated certificate of attendance and completion.
